The World Wide Web is getting larger or that is the general consensus and it is probably true. There is Web stuff added to the Web in quantities only the major search engines know since they monitor the Web almost in real-time.
One might expect that every sector of the Web is huge as well. The user generated content added daily is enormous. Business Websites expand with information about products, services and they blog a lot nowadays.
The Web sector that is very visible is the news sector. News appears first online before they are printed, if they get that far. Web media is almost entirely in transferable electronic format. One can easily assume that the Web media sector that publishes news is large, but is it so?
We have been gathering information about Websites that publishes news and in particular news covering the Web and technology. We are considerably surprised how few Websites are the news makers. This sector is at least much smaller than we expected and lot of news is recycled.

Looking at this short table it is clear where the focus of the Web news media is shifting: towards mobile phones. However, we were delighted to see the interest in Html 5, advertising and SEO. More news mentions later.
