Web Search is Alive and Kicking

A lot of things are taking place in Web search at the moment. Bing is adding new features that enable users to see what Websites their friends liked.

Yahoo is shedding a light on search stats that comScore reported for September where Google is sporting a 0.7 percent increase in U.S. Web search market share while Yahoo is shrinking and Bing is adding only 0.1 percent.

Bing is also adding a Facebook profile search feature and promises personalized Web search is coming to Bing soon. More at: Bing Gets More Social With Facebook

How can this be anything else than great for the average Web user that happens to search occasionally. Web search is truly alive and kicking. Choices of features and choices of presentation and user interfaces can only be good for Web searchers. It will be very interesting to watch when these competitors compete in the mobile space that at the moment has only one serious player in search.
