Links are the glue that connects the Web sites together building a Web of documents, software and information. The hyperlinks are so powerful, important and valuable that they often have a price tag, depending on the location, position, relevance and type.

Few years back 800x600 ruled, but not anymore. Screen displays have grown bigger in the past years. Seventeen and nineteen inches are probably the norm today for desktop computers and fifteen-sixteen inches for laptops.

The good old HTML table tag has been with us for a long time. Web designers use it for layout and tabular data. It is reliable; it is easy to get it working in all browsers and for those that want structure and order in their code the table tag is their best friend. There is another option available for Web designers that can do everything a table does and more: the DIV tag.

We hope you bear with us the constant reflection on the Web few years back. Few years back JavaScript was not highly regarded as a programming language. Mainly seen as a way to blink HTML code and generate hover effects on links. One thing changed all this: the introduction of the XMLHttpRequest object. This single element opened the way for external data within JavaScripts and, as they say it, the rest is history.

Findability is a fascinating word. It emphasizes the goal of every publicly accessible Web site. If a Web site has findability then it is likely to have Web users visiting it. Findability is a concept often associated to the search engines of the Web. If a Web user finds a Web site in search engines and has a good position among search engine results then it is findable and has findability, but that is only one piece of the puzzle.

Splash pages are more common than one can imagine. Splash pages are for example advertisements pushed onto the user's screen before he reaches the actual content. The user can "skip intro" or wait for few seconds before the Web site delivers the actual content.
