The user interface design of desktop applications is changing in the direction of Web look and feel rather than introducing innovations. The difference in design between desktop apps, Web sites, smart-phones and handheld computers is blurring.

Load time might become, in the near future, a factor in ranking Web pages and will therefore have direct influence on a Web site's overall success.

Primarily expectations for Web fonts is to have them readable by majority of Web users and then make them fit the overall Web page or site's design.
