Links in Content and Free Advertisements

Blogs appeared some ten years ago and personal Web publishing took off in a big way a few years later with a momentum in the volumes of blogs. The volumes of blogs that appeared brought with them volumes of on-page links and link rolls never seen before on the Web's landscape. Suddenly the Web environment, that had been reluctant to link, was eager to link to other Web sites.
Have you read an online newspaper article telling you about interesting things happening on the Web or with Web companies and there is not a single link in the article to the Web site, which is the centerpiece of the article? Well, this is a common practice and once this was a common practice by Web services providing advertising services as well. Forcing Web users to call a telephone number or reply only by e-Mail is neither in the interest of the advertisers nor in the interest of the Web users unless the advertiser does not have a Web site. The tide is turning and nowadays hyper-linking is the norm even on Web advertising services.

This aspect of hyper-linking came to mind when we visited the next Web site, olx.com free classifieds, for this project. Advertisements are by topics and by country, state and city location. The advertisements we read on the Web site contained links to the advertisers Web sites, Web users can reply via online form, some publish their telephone numbers and e-Mail, and the text of the ads is hyper-linked to other sections of the Web service. A free classified ad service that looks promising to both read and place ads.
